Today: Two meetings and some grading

Today I have co-graded a bachelor thesis in social work, attended a planning meeting in relation to the 2020 Norwegian Animal Ethics Conference held by Council for animal ethics, and attended a BOA project meeting at UIS (related to external funding).

Three meetings (incl. supervision)

Three meetings today:

- took part in opening an info meeting with our faculty and Faculty of health sciences on this Spring´s calls from Research Council of Norway

- Bachelor thesis supervision, first session

- planning meeting in relation to Network for welfare research´s workshop next week

Four meetings

Today I have attended four meetings: a faculty leadership budget meeting; a work lunch on prospective Norwegian-Baltic research collaboration; a planning meeting for the faculty´s upcoming Fagdag (academic day), and an appointments committee meeting related to the position as Head of department of Department of media and social sciences.

One and a half meeting

Today I attended the appointments committee meeting of the  Faculty of social sciences - but only two people with voting rights were present. We had our say about some cases, awaiting written input from other members, and decided that one case is to be rescheduled for the next meeting.

I also attended a planning meeting related to Network for welfare research (workshop plans and efforts to establish the steering group).

Yesterday I attended a planning meeting for Forum for forskning making plans for events in 2020. Four faculties are involved.

Then a planning meeting concerning the university´s Network for welfare research, the establishment of which was formally approved last Friday.

Today I have attended a planning meeting concerning a research ethics seminar, another planning meeting on the faculty´s research report, and a planning meeting on the Norwegian Animal Ethics Conference (Dyreetikkonferansen) 2019.

Today I have attended a meeting of the appointments committee for Head of department at the Norwegian School of Hotel Management, attended a planning meeting for the event series "Forum for forskning" (Forum for research), and given Ph.d. supervision.

Today I have attended a meeting planning how to revise our accreditation application for the ph.d. program in social sciences, and chaired my fifth meeting in the Doctoral committee of the ph.d. program. I have also had a 2-hour MA supervision session.

Today I have attended a meeting with two colleagues concerning the MEES course (Master in energy, environment and society) I am course coordinator for, "Philosophy of science and research methods" (MEE140), for planning purposes.

Cuba planning meeting

Today I have attended a planning meeting ahead of our research seminar at Universidad de la Habana on January 26-27th. We hope our Cuban partners can arrange a few field visits in the couple of days immediately before the seminar.

Today I met with a colleague to plan for seminar teaching on research methods in "Philosophy of science and research methods."

Lunch meeting

Today I attended a lunch meeting with two UiS colleagues in relation to my responsibility as course coordinator for "Philosophy of science and research methods".
