A meeting and an interview

Today I have attended the leadership group meeting at Faculty of social sciences. I have also taken part (on the interviewer side) in a job interview. All digital.

Today I have attended the leadership group meeting at Faculty of social sciences, and chaired the meeting of the ph.d. committee for the ph.d. in social sciences, both via video conference in Microsoft Teams.

Three meetings; appointed member of work group to fix UIS quality system

Today I have attended three meetings in my capacity as Vice-Dean of research at University of Stavanger´s Faculty of social sciences: First a 3 hour work meeting on the faculty´s strategy with the faculty leadership group, next the monthly meeting of the doctoral committee for the ph.d. programme in social sciences, which I chaired, and finally a 2 hour meeting on the university´s follow-up work on NOKUT´s disallowance of the UIS´ quality system (I have been appointed to one of the five work groups that are established to geth things fixed).

Today I have attended the faculty´s leadership group meeting, and a meeting with two colleagues in the faculty´s research administration.

Three meetings and then off

Today I have attended the faculty leadership group meeting, chaired the first meeting of the new ph.d. committee (for the ph.d. in social sciences), and attended a meeting deciding on (proposals for) estimation of work hours for some ph.d.-related tasks.

Leadership group gathering in Twente attended; University of Twente visited

Thursday and Friday this week, i.e. November 14-15th, I attended the leadership group gathering of Faculty of social sciences in Enschede in the region of Twente in the Netherlands. The program included discussing strategy and visiting the University of Twente - where we had 7-8 appointments including being shown around at two labs. In particular, we met with people representing Faculty of Behavioral, Management and Social Sciences (BMS).

Today I have travelled from Stavanger to Enschede in the region Twente in the Netherlands, to take part in the faculty leadership group gathering over the next two days.

Three meetings

Today I have attended three meetings. First the leadership group meeting at Faculty of social sciences. Then the ph.d. committee for the ph.d. in social sciences. And finally a planning meeting related to the Network for welfare research.

A day full of meetings

Yesterday I attended:

* the weekly leadership group meeting at Faculty of social sciences

* about half an hour of the discussions part of professor emeritus Gunnar Skirbekk´s seminar presentation "Om utfordringar i moderne samfunn", organized by Norwegian School of Hotel Management

* a meeting with the leadership of Museum of Archeology, about our ph.d. program collaboration

* a faculty leadership meeting for Faculty of social sciences (dean, director, vice-deans)

I also met with a bachelor student to discuss possible supervision.

Five meetings and then some

Yesterday I attended the autumn´s first leadership group meeting at Faculty of social sciences, and four more meetings with colleagues in preparation of various tasks. I also attended the first hour of the kick-off event for the University of Stavanger´s new education quality system.

Today I have attended the Faculty of social sciences´ leadership group meeting - the last I get to attend before the summer - and a ph.d. start-up meeting with a ph.d. student and a supervisor. I have also had the final supervision session with my MA thesis student this Spring.

For the last three days I have been in Brighton, UK, attending my first UiS Faculty of social sciences leadership group gathering abroad - which are held twice a year.

Today I have taken part in the Faculty of social sciences´ leadership group meeting, and an information meeting on research schools on Department of social studies. And then some.

Meeting; children at work

Today I participated in - and (in the absence of the Dean) chaired - the faculty´s leadership group meeting, focused on our ongoing establishment of research schools. Two of my kids were nearby, since kindergarten has planning day today.

Toda I have attended the faculty´s leadership group meeting, a planning meeting concerning our work with re-accreditation of the PhD program, and a planning meeting on research assistance schemes.

Today I have attended the Faculty of social sciences´ leadership group meeting, chaired a start-up meeting with two PhD scholars and supervisors, and attended the meeting of the appointments committee responsible for the position as head of department at the Norwegian School of Hotel Management.

Today I participated in the leadership group meeting of University of Stavanger´s Faculty of social sciences. Next week I will be on Cuba.

First the leadership group at UiS Faculty of social sciences, then a planning meeting in the NORPART project "Cuban and Nordic welfare" ahead of our trip to Havana in a couple of weeks.

Two meetings and a seminar

On Monday this week I attended my first ever Vice-Dean for Research meeting, with the UiS Director of Research Troels Jakobsen. On Tuesday I attended the leadership group meeting at Faculty of social sciences, and a half-day seminar on making e-compensiums held by the NORPART project "Cuban and Nordic welfare".
