Mars and the Earthlings update - my writings in astrobiology

Yesterday was the deadline for submitting revised text to the editors of the book Mars and the Earthlings. I participate in Work group 9, which addresses political, societal and ethical aspects of going to and potentially settling on Mars. Now after recent work and editing, I am credited with having contributed to the following sections made by Workgroup 9, along with other scholars:

"Political motivations and factors for Mars race" 

"Civil liberties vs. security: How much do we have to sacrifice individual freedom to survive on Mars?" 

"Demography"

"Safety and governance" 

"Ethical considerations of non-humans on Mars"

2 meetings

Yesterday, on Thursday, I attended 2 scheduled appointments/meetings. This included a seminar on economy routines and responsibility at UIS and the final meeting of the work group planning for allocation of study places.

Today I have attended 4 scheduled meetings. This included the first faculty leadership group meeting this Autumn, and the fifth meeting in a work group investigating transfer of study places.

Today I have stayed at home, working from home office, and attended 4 scheduled meetings digitally. This included the second meeting in a work group that considers allocation of study places at the university.

Today I have attended a work group meeting related to the establishment of Cognitive lab at UIS, and an appointments committee meeting related to a Head of department position.

Two meetings, a pick-up and a corona test

Yesterday I attended the faculty leadership group meeting, picked up the outfit of the Dean in preparation of Thursday´s Ph.d. defence which I will chair, took a corona test, and attended the kick-off meeting of a work group established to plan for a cognitive lab at University of Stavanger.

Today I have attended a faculty administration meeting on this year´s faculty research report, and the first meeting in the BOA project work group (related to increasing external funding).

Three meetings; appointed member of work group to fix UIS quality system

Today I have attended three meetings in my capacity as Vice-Dean of research at University of Stavanger´s Faculty of social sciences: First a 3 hour work meeting on the faculty´s strategy with the faculty leadership group, next the monthly meeting of the doctoral committee for the ph.d. programme in social sciences, which I chaired, and finally a 2 hour meeting on the university´s follow-up work on NOKUT´s disallowance of the UIS´ quality system (I have been appointed to one of the five work groups that are established to geth things fixed).

Today I have attended parts of the work group meetings of GroupHouseNet in Skopje, Macedonia. Soon the meeting will be closing.

Meeting of UiS Work group on ethical trade attended

Today I have taken part in a meeting of the University of Stavanger Work group on ethical trade.  One of our major tasks this meeting was to treat and help compose the annual report to Ethical Trading initiative Norway, of which University of Stavanger is a member.

Staff meeting attended; member of work group planning personell trip abroad

Today I have attended the personell gathering/meeting at University of Stavanger's Department of social studies. 

I volunteered to be a member of a work group that will plan a 2-day personell seminar/gathering abroad which will take place next Spring.
