Two meetings and performance appraisal

Today I have attended a planning meeting about the faculty´s Academic day (Fagdag), and a steering group meeting for the NORPART project CubaNor. I have also had my annual performance appraisal with the Dean of the faculty, Gro Ellen Mathisen.

Two and a half meeting

Today I attended the rector meeting at University of Stavanger (for the second time - standing in for Dean at Faculty of social sciences Gro Ellen Mathisen), the Forskningsutvalget (research committee) meeting, and the first 15 minutes of the Vice-Dean for research meeting chaired by Vice-Rector for Research Merete Vadla Madland.

Faculty leadership group gathering in Brighton attended

For the last three days I have been in Brighton, UK, attending my first UiS Faculty of social sciences leadership group gathering abroad - which are held twice a year.

Two meetings

Today I had the first performance appraisal with the Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences, as Vice-Dean of Research. I also attended another planning meeting for the Network for welfare research workshop that will be held April 30th - this time focused on the group work we´ll have.

Application budget counseling; PhD program document revisions

Today I have received economic counseling on my Research Council of Norway application AHAWELL, and revised PhD program draft documents (cf. post earlier this week) along with the Dean of Faculty of social sciences.

No response from UiS deans on philosophers´ educational proposals

Unfortunately, after more than 6 months have passed, we the philosophers at University of Stavanger have still not heard back on the substance of our educational proposals communicated in a letter to the deans of Faculty of Social Sciences (Gro Ellen Mathiesen) and Faculty of humanities and education (Elaine Munthe), sent this February. Only Munthe has acknowledged receiving the letter.

IMKS course approved by dean

I have been notified that the course description for "Philosophy of science and research methods" has been approved by the dean of the Faculty of social sciences, Gro Ellen Mathisen.

Course description pending revisions, decision

The course description for the master course on philosophy of science and research methods in the Master in Energy, Environment and Society has not yet been approved by the Dean of Faculty of social sciences, due to formalities. It is now pending some revisions. There are limits to what I can accept and still be responsible for.

Staff meeting attended

Today I attended the staff meeting of Department of social studies at University of Stavanger, the first this autumn. We had lunch and cake, and were informed about developments at the department and university. The new dean of Faculty of social sciences, Gro Ellen Mathisen, was there to introduce herself.
