A meeting; opening of research school webinar

Today I have attended and opened the opening webinar of the research school in social work and welfare (SWEL) at University of Stavanger, in my capacity as Vice-Dean of research at Faculty of social sciences. I have also attended a work group meeting (in Teams) in relation to the quality revision work of the university (subproject C).

Today I have been attending a planning meeting for the faculty´s "fagdag" next year, and an info meeting in relation to the establishment (starting today) of research schools in the ph.d. program in social sciences.

Accreditation application approved by UIS board

Today the board of the University of Stavanger has unanimously decided to approve the accreditation application for the ph.d. program in social sciences, which I am leading in my capacity as Vice Dean of Research at Faculty of social sciences. The reorganized programme, with five research schools, will be in effect from tomorrow.

Two meetings

Today I have attended a meeting related to the establishment of a research school in welfare and social work, and a meeting with the Rogaland county authority (Rogaland fylkeskommune) in relation to their work on public health.

Two meetings and a supervision session

Today I have attended a meeting regarding my role as head of the ph.d. in social sciences, attended an introductory meeting between the upcoming rector of University of Stavanger, Klaus Mohn, and the leadership group at Faculty of social sciences, and supervised my Ph.D. student.

Today I have attended a meeting in the recommendation committee (innstillingsutvalg) for research schools in the Ph.d. program in social sciences.

A seminar, and a meeting (on the go)

Today I attended the second and last day of the UiS Lederforum in Egersund. On the way back home, by car, the faculty leadership had a meeting on our ongoing research school establishment process.

Today I have taken part in the Faculty of social sciences´ leadership group meeting, and an information meeting on research schools on Department of social studies. And then some.

Today I have attended a dialogue meeting between the leadership of Faculty of social sciences and Department of media and social sciences, and a faculty-level meeting regarding research schools, and had a MA thesis supervision session.

Research schools: Call published, with application form, guidelines

Today an announcement text in relation to a call for applications for establishing research schools in connection with the PhD program in social sciences at University of Stavanger has been published, along with an application form and guidelines for research schools. I have drafted all these documents, and also been involved in making final edits with the Dean after receiving feedback on draft versions.

More job interviews; PhD program documents drafted

Today I have taken part in interviews in relation to the job as Head of Department at the Norwegian School of Hotel Management, as part of the appointments committee.

I also finalized drafts of guidelines for research schools, an application form for establishment of research schools, and an announcement text for the application process. I have also recently finished a draft of the study plan for the PhD program in social sciences. All these noe receive feedback from a facilitation group.
