6 appointments including 3 welcome speeches and 1 employee appraisal

Today I have had 6 scheduled appointments. This included giving welcome speeches for the new students in bachelor in psychology, bachelor in social work and bachelor in child welfare, and an employee appraisal (total to date: 65, of which 2 in August).

Three meetings

Today I have attended three meetings. This included a meeting with BUFETAT (Norway´s Agency for Children, Youth and Families), a meeting related to Cognitive lab, and a steering group meeting for establishment of a candidate of psychology study.

6 welcome speeches and preparation of master grading

Today I have given a welcome speech to new students six times, divided between the three bachelor degrees of Department of social studies (in psychology, social work, and child welfare). All in actual, physical rooms. I have also prepared grading of a master thesis for University of Oslo.

This is the bachelor closing ceremony 2021 for Department of social studies at University of Stavanger. The program includes a speech by me, and one by Andreas Håheim, plus two song performances (jazz).

Two meetings and supervision

Today I have attended a meeting related to the ph.d. program, and the open meeting of the Faculty of social sciences focused on the university´s and faculty´s strategy work. I have also had a supervision session.

Three meetings (incl. supervision)

Three meetings today:

- took part in opening an info meeting with our faculty and Faculty of health sciences on this Spring´s calls from Research Council of Norway

- Bachelor thesis supervision, first session

- planning meeting in relation to Network for welfare research´s workshop next week

Four meetings

Yesterday and today I have participated in altogether four meetings on establishment of research schools, with two more scheduled for next week. I have also participated in a planning meeting in relation to restructuring of the bachelor in child welfare (which emphasis on philosophy´s part). Ex.phil. will disappear.

Meeting on bachelor program revisions

Today I took part in a meeting with two colleagues in relation to ongoing revisions of the bachelor in child welfare, and the role of critical thinking etc. in that bachelor.

Continuation exam grading of bachelor thesis

Today I have taken part in the (continuation exam) grading of a bachelor thesis in child welfare. 

Teacher meeting - child welfare

Today I attended a meeting with fellow course coordinators in the bachelor study in child welfare, discussing revision of course descriptions, teaching in research methods, and other issues.

Today I presented basic information about Ex.Phil. to child welfare students at Department of social studies, University of Stavanger. I was accompanied by my oldest son.

Grading of four bachelor theses

I have completed grading of four bachelor theses in child welfare, with an external examiner. Grades will only be announced come the deadline June 26th.

Two supervision sessions this week - one MA, one BA (completing BA supervision this Spring).

Today I attended a meeting with colleagues that involved evaluation of this Spring´s supervision work in relation to bachelor thesis in child welfare and social work.

This week I have had two supervision sessions with Bachelor thesis students - last round - and one with a Master thesis student.

Today and tomorrow I engage in supervision of my PhD student and one of my Bachelor thesis students (written feedback). A PhD project plan is due tomorrow.
