Today I attended a meeting with two colleagues in relation to our NORPART application which is due by end of May.

Teaching plan for PHCC master course composed

Today I have composed the teaching plan for the master course "Philosophy of Science and Health Care Ethics" (course code FXPSH100), offered by UiS EVU. Teaching days are at the end of November and end of February respectively.

PHCC Course description revised

Today I have finished revising the course description of the PHCC (Pre-Hospital Critical Care) master course "Philosophy of Science and Health Care" (course code FXPSH100), which is offered by UiS EVU.

Meeting on PHCC master course; contract signed

Today I have been in a meeting with UiS EVU, and later on signed a contract with them as responsible (course coordinator and sole teacher) for the course "Philosophy of Science and Health Care Ethics" as part of the PCHH (Pre-Hospital Critical Care) Master. The course will be taught over this autumn and next Spring (2 x whole 3 days of teaching).

To be teacher at UiS EVU in master in pre-hospital critical care; info meeting

Some seven weeks ago I as asked to be responsible for the course in Philosophy of science and health care ethics in the master program Pre-Hospital Critical Care (PHCC), which is to be offered by the University of Stavanger's unit for continuing education, UiS EVU. I accepted - and on Monday 19th of May I attended an information meeting at UiS EVU. 

My course will in the first round be offered autumn 2015 and spring 2016, and amount to 10 credits (1/6 of a full year's credits). It will largely be modelled after the master course in Philosophy of science and ethics that I have been giving autumn 2012 and autumn 2013 at UiS' Department of health studies (as part of the department's master in health science).

The PHCC master program, which is pending approval by the UiS board in June, is initiated and initially funded by Norsk Luftambulanse [Norwegian Air Ambulance]. New students will likely be admitted every second year starting this autumn.

44 master-level exam papers graded

In the days preceding Christmas Eve I graded 44 exam papers in the master course "Vitenskapsfilosofi og etikk" (Philosophy of science and ethics, course code MHV140) at University of Stavanger's Department of health studies. Reported to the university a couple of days back.

Exam questions in master course prepared

Yesterday I composed the exam questions for this autumn's exam in the master course "Vitenskapsfilosofi og etikk" [Philosophy of science and ethics] (course code MHV140) at the University of Stavanger's Department of health studies, which will take place as a home exam December 10th-17th.

Master meeting at UiS

Yesterday I took part in the regular Master meeting at University of Stavanger's Department of health studies.

Teaching - philosophy of science

Yesterday I taught for 5 hours in this autumn's master course for health studies students "Philosophy of science and ethics" (MHV140). Introduction to philosophy of science was the day's topic. The course design is different this year compared with last year, but all seems to go well - and better than last year (which went well enough).

Teaching at UiS, November 2012

On Wednesday November 7th I taught for 5 hours at University of Stavanger, in the master course for health science students "Philosophy of science and ethics". The lectures had been rescheduled to this date from October 17th due to my son's (expected) birth in October - my wife's due date was October 10th (and he was born the very same day).

42 master-level exam papers in philosophy of science and ethics graded

January 1st-7th I graded 42 3,000-word exam papers in the master course "Vitenskapsfilosofi og etikk" [Philosophy of science and ethics] at University of Stavanger's Department of Health Studies, for which I was the teacher last autumn.
