Today I have attended one meeting.

Course description revised; new course code for master course for paramedics

A little while ago I revised the course description for the course «Philosophy of Science and Health Care Ethics». The course, previously run by UiS EVU, is now administered by University of Stavanger´s Department of health studies, and therefore has a new course code, MPH130_1 (the previous course code was FXPSH100).

Selected compulsory readings in FXPSH100

In Mid-November 2015 - much later than I should do this (this was just one and a half week or so before the first gathering/teaching) - I composed and announced selected compulsory readings in the course "Philosophy of science and health care ethics" (course code FXPSH100) at UiS EVU.

Compulsory reading - chapters selected for UiS EVU course

Somewhat ahead of the first gathering, in November last year, I selected chapters (compulsory reading) from two anthologies for the UiS EVU Master course "Philosophy of science and health care ethics".

18 MA exam papers graded

Last Friday I finished grading a total of 18 home exam papers in the UiS EVU course "Philosophy of science and health care ethics" (course code FXPSH100).

PHCC meeting attended

Today I attended a meeting for faculty involved in the UiS EVU master program Prehospital Critical Care (PHCC), at University of Stavanger´s Department of health studies.

Home exam questions composed

On Thursday February 25th I completed composing home exam questions for the course "Philosophy of science and health care ethics" (UiS EVU).

5 hours of teaching

On Friday February 26th I taught for 5 hours in the course "Philosophy of science and health care ethics", for UiS EVU. This completed three days of teaching, in the second and final gathering of the course. Home exam in the course started the same day.

7 hours of teaching

Today I taught for another 7 hours in the UiS EVU course "Philosophy of science and health care ethics" (course code FXPSH100). This included 5 hours of student presentations, with feedback and input from me, and two hours of my stand-in "student presentations" in philosophy of science (including issues in positivism and phenomenology).

6 hours of teaching

Today I taught for 6 hours in the UiS EVU course "Philosophy of science and health care ethics" (course code FXPSH100). The topic was introduction to philosophy of science for health and social studies. 

6 hours of teaching in UiS EVU course - 19 this week

Today I taught for 6 hours (8.30-14.45) in the course "Philosophy of science and health care ethics" (course code FXPSH100) at UiS EVU, Måltidets hus - 3 hours of presenting, and 3 hours of commenting students´ presentations. The topic was ethics. Altogether I have now taught for 19 hours these last three days. The course is thus half-way to the finish line.

7 hours of teaching in UiS EVU course

Today I taught for 7 hours (8.30-16.00) in the course "Philosophy of science and health care ethics" (course code FXPSH100) at UiS EVU, Måltidets hus - 4 hours of presenting, and 3 hours of commenting students´ presentations. The topic was ethics.

6 hours of teaching in UiS EVU course

Today I taught for 6 hours (9.30-16.00) in the course "Philosophy of science and health care ethics" (course code FXPSH100) at UiS EVU, Måltidets hus. The topic was introduction to ethics and how to prepare an academic presentation.

PHCC Course description revised

Today I have finished revising the course description of the PHCC (Pre-Hospital Critical Care) master course "Philosophy of Science and Health Care" (course code FXPSH100), which is offered by UiS EVU.

Meeting on PHCC attended

On March 18th I attended a meeting on experiences so far in two courses in the UiS EVU Master in Pre-Hospital Critical Care (see previous posts), in preparation of my own course which starts this autumn, "Philosophy of Science and Health Care Ethics".

To be employed by UiS Business School this autumn

Yesterday, after a week´s negotiations, I agreed to make an employment contract with the University of Stavanger Business School for this autumn. I will be employed in 40% position August to December 2015, as Associate professor in philosophy, responsible for teaching in Examen Philosophicum.

This will be the third department at UiS that I have been affiliated with. Altogether I have made arrangements for 100% work (plus responsibility for UiS EVU, cf. yesterday´s post) in the academic year 2015-2016.

Meeting on PHCC master course; contract signed

Today I have been in a meeting with UiS EVU, and later on signed a contract with them as responsible (course coordinator and sole teacher) for the course "Philosophy of Science and Health Care Ethics" as part of the PCHH (Pre-Hospital Critical Care) Master. The course will be taught over this autumn and next Spring (2 x whole 3 days of teaching).

Agreed to be course coordinator in PHCC master

On April 7th (while in parliament, as it happened) I was asked, and agreed, to be coordinator for the course "Philosophy of Science and Health Care Ethics" in the master program Pre-Hospital Critical Care (PHCC) - see previous posts, including on more recent developments - to be offered by University of Stavanger (UiS EVU) starting this fall.

University of Stavanger's master programme in Pre-Hospital Critical Care, which was recently approved by the university board (see previous posts), has launched its programme webpage. Application deadline for the first round is August 2nd.

PHCC master programme at UiS approved - to be established this autumn

The master programme Pre-Hospital Critical care (PHCC) was approved by the board of the University of Stavanger in its meeting Thursday this week (see very brief report from this board meeting - in Norwegian).

Also, yesterday I had a meeting with one of the core teachers involved, to make plans for coordination etc.
