Record turnout at Arne Næss Kunnskapstørst event

Yesterday I delivered the paper "Hadde Arne Næss rett om miljøkrisen?" (Was Arne Næss right about the environmental crisis?) at Måltidets hus under the banner of Kunnskapstørst and Forskningsdagene. Some 40 people attended - from what I am told, this is the biggest turnout to date for a Kunnskapstørst event in the Stavanger region.

UIS PR for Forskningsdagene

The University of Stavanger has published a news story titled "Kan marknaden redde klimaet, eller går verda til helvetet?" (Can the market save the climate, or does the world go to hell?) about UIS events during Forskningsdagene. A profile photo of me is included. The same photo is featured in the most recent UIS newsletter (distributed by email today).

Research days "Kunnskapstørst" talk announced

On Thursday September 19th I will give the talk "Hadde Arne Næss rett om miljøkrisen?" (Was Arne Næss right about the environmental crisis?) at 4 pm. at Måltidets hus (Stavanger). This is an "Kunnskapstørst" event (a popular science lecture series organized by Validé, University of Stavanger and Innovasjonspark Stavanger) that is part of Forskningsdagene 2019 (national research days). Scheduled to talk about Arne Næss and the environmental crisis in September at Kunnskapstørst event

I have agreed to give a brief public lecture (20-30 minutes) at the event "Kunnskapstørst" (literally "knowledge thirst") on Thursday September 19th, during the national event "Forskningsdagene" (the research days). The lecture will be given at Ydalir campus hotel close to University of Stavanger. The title of my talk is "Hadde Arne Næss rett om miljøkrisen?" (Was Arne Næss right about the environmental crisis?)

Verdibørsen interview on "humanity in puberty" aired

An interview with me aired on Verdibørsen earlier today, titled "Menneskeheten i puberteten" (Humanity in puberty). In the interview I relate to Arne Næss´ thoughts about war and peace and the long-term maturing of humanity, admit to occasionally longing for a new civilization, and identify as a liberal deep ecologist. Program host Jostein Gjertsen presents the interview as Verdibørsen´s contribution to Forskningsdagene, an event which this year has "oppvekst" (childhood, upbringing) as theme.

To appear on stage at "Art, Science and Cocktails" event in Stavanger

I have agreed to be on stage during an event at Kåkå in Stavanger called "Art, Science and Cocktails" on September 23rd. The event is part of the Norwegian "science days" (Forskningsdagene) and organized by Article biennial 2016.

Talk at researcher stand-up cancelled

My participation at the researcher Stand-up event in Stavanger today was cancelled due to the birth of my twins about a week ago.

I am one of 12 researchers who will take part in the event "Forsker StandUp" [researcher stand-up] during Forskningsdagene [the research days] in Stavanger in September. The title of my 15 minute talk, to be given September 22nd, is "Det menneskeskapte økologiske hierarki i Anthropocen" [The human-made ecological hierarchy in the Anthropocene].

Today I have agreed to take part in a "Forsker Standup" (researcher standup) at Café Sting in Stavanger on September 22nd, as part of Forskningsdagene [literally: the research days], an annual Norwegian academic festival. Work title for my 15 minute presentation: “Om det menneskeskapte økologiske hierarki i Antropocen” [On the human-made ecological hierarchy in the Anthropocene].
