Today I have given the third lecture this semester in Ex.phil. at the University of Stavanger´s Department of psychology (SVEXPHIL-IP) for bachelor and one-year students in psychology. The topic was theory of science.

First Ex.phil. lecture this Autumn; responsibilities this Autumn semester

Today I have given the first lecture this semester in Ex.phil. at the University of Stavanger´s Department of psychology (SVEXPHIL-IP). The topic, besides course information, was epistemology. Some 60-70 students attended.

My work in Ex.phil. this Autumn is partly on my regular work plan (at Department of social studies) and partly overtime work. I am responsible for half the teaching, half the grading, and all assessment of a compulsory assignment, in addition to being course coordinator.

Online semiotics workshop for University of Oran1 – Algeria scheduled, then delayed

I was scheduled to present a paper titled «Semiotics, animals, environment – Umwelt theory in the tradition of the Tartu-Copenhagen school of biosemiotics» online for University of Oran1 – Algeria, on Thursday January 8th, but pending formal approval this workshop has now been indeterminately delayed.

Today´s main topic was how the human self can be understood, including in connection with material reality.

Today´s topic was how humans can be understood from the perspectives of biology, social sciences and human dignity.

Sixth Ex.phil. lecture

Today I have given the sixth lecture in Ex.phil. this Autumn, at University of Stavanger´s Department of social studies. The course is part of the bachelor in psychology as well as the year-long study in psychology. Today´s topics were Nietzsche´s and Freud´s approach to people´s inner lives and moral motivation, and ethics of proximity, among other topics.

Today I have given the fifth lecture in Ex.phil. this Autumn, at University of Stavanger´s Department of social studies. The course is part of the bachelor in psychology as well as the year-long study in psychology. Today´s topics were Hume´s ethics and normative ethics, specifically utilitarianism and Kant´s duty ethics.

Today I have given the third lecture in Ex.phil. this Autumn, at University of Stavanger´s Department of social studies. The course is part of the bachelor in psychology as well as the year-long study in psychology. Today´s topic was theory of science, with emphasis on Popper and Kuhn, and the classification of psychology.

Second Ex.phil. lecture

Today I have given the second lecture in Ex.phil. this Autumn, at University of Stavanger´s Department of social studies. The course is part of the bachelor in psychology as well as the year-long study in psychology. Today´s topic was epistemology, with emphasis on Kant´s philosophy, and an introduction to critical thinking.

First Ex.phil. lecture

Today I have given the first lecture in Ex.phil. this Autumn, at University of Stavanger´s Department of social studies. The course is part of the bachelor in psychology as well as the year-long study in psychology. Today´s topic was epistemology. About 100 students attended.

3 hours of condensed teaching in environmental psychology master course

Today I have given two one-hour lectures and a one-hour seminar digitally in the environmental psychology master course (MPS180) that is part of University of Stavanger´s master degree in psychology. The lectures (which were originally scheduled as two hours each) and seminar was earlier cancelled due to sickness. The topics were ecological psychology with emphasis on affordances, and lifeworld perspectives on human and animal perception and behaviour.

This concludes my teaching this Spring term.

First lecture given in environmental psychology course

Today I have given a lecture in environmental psychology as part of University of Stavanger´s master in psychology, on the topic climate crisis and psychology.

Lecture on publication ethics etc. given in psychology bachelor thesis course

Today I gave a lecture in the bachelor thesis course (BPSBAC) in the bachelor in psychology at University of Stavanger´s Department of social studies, covering selected topics in applied ethics, focused on publication ethics and, secondarily, privacy issues etc. related to involvement of participants in student projects.
