Interviewed by research magazine on ties between UiS and oil industry

Yesterday I was interviewed by the magazine Forskerforum [Forum for research] about the Norwegian universities' relation to the oil industry. Bill McKibben was recently awarded with the Sophie Prize, and this has sparked some debate on Statoil's and other oil companies sponsoring of university research. This is happening at the University of Stavanger, where I work, and has not been subjected to ethical debate. In my opinion research supporting enhanced oil recovery and opening of new fields far north (e.g. drilling technology) should be phased out.

The interview will appear in print in Forskerforum no. 10/2013, which will appear around the 1st of December. Forskerforum, which is published by The Norwegian Association of Researchers (Forskerforbundet), has a distribution of around 18.000 copies.
