Autumn´s first half writing day

Today I had the autumn´s first half article writing day, with some 800 words written on the announcement text for the Biosemiotic Achievement award for 2020.

Yesterday I announced the winners of the Biosemiotic achievement award for 2020 during the closing section of the 21st gathering in biosemiotics. Watch it here (live stream - day 4 - at 6.13.50-6.19). I was a member of the selection panel for this year´s award along with Claudio Rodriguez Higueira, with me representing the International Society for Biosemiotic Studies (ISBS) and Claudio representing the journal Biosemiotics.

Almo Farina new member of selection panel for biosemiotics award

Also Farina has been appointed as the new member of the selection panel of the Annual Biosemiotic Achievement Award, replacing Karel Kleisner, who served for the first year as the journal Biosemiotics´ appointee.

Selection panel of the Annual Biosemiotic Achievement Award appointed

The selection panel of the Annual Biosemiotic Achievement Award (see statutes) has now been appointed. Initially it counts the following members: Izabela Witkowska (Springer), Karel Kleisner (appointed by the Editors-in-Chief of Biosemiotics) and Don Favareau (appointed by the International Society for Biosemiotic Studies (ISBS)).

The first award will be given to author(s) of an article in the 2015 volume (nos. 1, 2, 3) of Biosemiotics. The winner will be announced in Biosemiotics #1/2016 and on the ISBS webpage.
