Family and freedom chapter to be published December 21st; book cover

The chapter "Familie og fridom: Norsk familiepolitikk i lys av liberal politisk teori" (Family and freedom: Norwegian family policies in light of liberal political theory) is forthcoming in Barneomsorg på norsk [Childcare in Norway]: I samspill mellom hjem og stat (eds. Ingunn Studsrød and Svein Erik Tuastad), which Universitetsforlaget says will be published December 21st.

Staff meeting attended

I have just attended Department of social studies´ staff meeting. Topics covered included info on staff changes, plans for staff seminar in Egersund, and presentation on the book - soon in press - Barneomsorg på norsk.

Family and freedom chapter to appear in December; renamed book title

Our chapter "Familie og fridom. Norsk familiepolitikk i lys av liberal politisk teori" [Family and freedom. Norwegian family policies in light of liberal political theory] is likely to be published in December this year, I´ve been notified. It will appear in the book Barneomsorg på norsk: I samspill mellom hjem og stat [Childcare in Norway: In interplay between home and state], tp be published by Universitetsforlaget.

Chapter revision

Yesterday I contributed to another round of revision of "Familie og fridom" [Family and freedom], a book chapter co-written with Svein Tuastad.

Tuastad and Tønnessen chapter revised

Today I have finished revising, again, the book chapter by Svein Tuastad and myself on Norwegian family policies seen in light of liberal political philosophy. The chapter will now be submitted to the publisher.

Another anthology seminar

Last Friday I took part in another seminar on our department´s forthcoming anthology. I received feedback and gave feedback on two-three chapters.

Family policies chapter revised

I have just, in collaboration with Svein Tuastad, finished the 2nd revision, 3rd version, of our book chapter "Familie og fridom. Norsk familiepolitikk i lys av liberal politisk teori" [Family and freedom. Norwegian family policies in light of liberal political theory].

Anthology meeting

Today I attended a minimal meeting on the department´s book anthology in process. This versions of manuscripts are due February 10th.

Revision of family policy chapter

Today I have gone another round with revising parts of "Familie og fridom. Norsk familiepolitikk i lys av liberal politisk filosofi", a chapter I am co-writing with Svein Tuastad. Today´s task mostly involved adding references to official information about Norwegian family policies.

Today I have attended a status meeting on the anthology me and several colleagues on University of Stavanger´s Department of social studies are working on. Revisions are due by November 1st.

Book anthology seminar attended

Today I have attended a day-long seminar on the anthology Barneomsorg på norsk: I spenning mellom det offentlige og det private [Childcare in Norway: In tension between the public and the private]., at Ølberg konferansesenter. Svein Tuastad and I got feedback on our chapter "Familie og fridom. Norsk familiepolitikk i lys av liberal politisk teori" [Family and freedom. Norwegian family policies in light of liberal political theory]", and I gave feedback to another chapter in the anthology, written by Svein and Ayan Handulle.

Book on Norwegian childcare renamed

The book previously work-titled "Familien bak fasaden. Barneomsorg på norsk: I spenning og samspill mellom det offentlige og det private" [The family behind the facade. Childcare in Norway: In tension and interaction between the public and the private] has been renamed "Barneomsorg på norsk: I spenning mellom det offentlige og det private. [Childcare in Norway: In tension between the public and the private]". 

The anthology, which is to be published Spring 2017 by Universitetsforlaget, will feature a chapter co-written by me and Svein Tuastad, "Familie og fridom. Norsk familiepolitikk i lys av liberal politisk teori" [Family and freedom. Norwegian family policies in light of liberal political theory].

Full draft of chapter on family policies and liberalism

Today, along with Svein Tuastad, I finished our (practically) full draft of our joint book chapter "Familie og fridom. Norsk familiepolitikk i lys av liberal politisk teori" [Family and freedom. Norwegian family policies in light of liberal political theory]. Ca. 7.000 words.
