Philosophy and subjectivity - input to report and renewal application

Today I have compiled input to the report so far of the UiS program area for research "Filosofi og subjektivitet", in relation to our application for renewal of the program area.

Program area "Philosophy and subjectivity" approved; launches May 1st

Yesterday we were notified that University of Stavanger, or more specifically the Dean of Faculty of Social Sciencesm has approved the establishment of the program area for research "Filosofi og subjektivitet" [Philosophy and subjectivity], with me among the core members. The program area is officially established May 1st and for now runs until December 31st.

Welfare services research meeting

On Tuesday March 13th I attended the meeting of the program area for welfare services research, where we discussed this year´s research applications, and how we can help each other with regard to academic writing.

Our revised application for establishment of a research program area on philosophy and subjectivity was submitted yesterday.

Meeting in preparation of program area on subjectivity

Last week I attended a meeting with two colleagues in preparation of our program area application focusing on subjectivity. We particularly focused on external funding plans, but also other aspects.

Program areas dilemma

I have been informed that a researcher at University of Stavanger can only be part of maximum two research program areas. Since I am now part of the welfare services research program area plus The Greenhouse, and also involved in the philosophers´ application for a program area on subjectivity, I will have to make a tough choice.

Program area application - status

The program area research application of the philosophers, in which I am involved, has not yet been formally submitted, but has received some critical feedback that will need to be addressed.

Subjectivity program area application said to be submitted

About a week ago, I am told, the philosophers´ application for a research program area on philosophical and scientific perspectives on subjectivity was submitted to the head of department at Department of media and social sciences. I am involved as one of the several core researchers.

Research program area on environmental humanities approved

I have been notified that our application for establishing a research program area at University of Stavanger on environmental humanities has been approved, under the auspices of The Greenhouse initiative. I am one of its members. As of today I am a member of two program areas. Application for a third is in process.

The full name of the new program area is The Greenhouse: A Cross-Disciplinary Environmental Humanities Initiative.

Research program area on welfare research renewed for 1 year

The research program area for welfare services research at University of Stavanger has been renewed for another your, until 31.12.2017. Starting a few months ago, the program area, which is headed by Professor Siv Oltedal, counts me as one of its members.

Contribution to philosophical program area research application

I have recently contributed with text on subjectivity and perception to a in-process program area research application among philosophers at University of Stavanger with some external collaborators.

Included in Environmental Humanities research application

I am included as one of the researchers in a University of Stavanger research application for a new program area entitled The Greenhouse. This is a cross-disciplinary Environmental Humanities initiative.

Joining UiS program area on welfare research

I have joined the University of Stavanger program area for "Velferdstenesteforsking" [welfare services research], which is headed by Siv Oltedal.

Skype meeting for philosophers

Today I participated in a philosopher meeting via Skype involving a group in Rome and another at University of Stavanger, in relation to our application in preparation of establishing a new program area for research.

Philosophical lunch

Today I met for lunch with three of the other University of Stavanger philosophers. We are in the process of starting to draft an application for a new program area at UiS.
