Article on formal/informal predator management to be submitted to Materialisten

While in Oslo in mid-October I was invited by the editor of Norwegian journal Materialisten, an interdisciplinary journal devoted to scholarly and social critique, to submit an article in early 2012. I later scheduled with editor Cecilie Høigård (a criminologist) that my contribution, worktitled "Formell og uformell rovviltforvaltning [eventuelt ulveforvaltning] i Norge [eventuelt Skandinavia] [Formal and informal predator management [possibly: wolf management] in Norway [possibly: Scandinavia]], should be submitted by February 15th 2012.

Talk at predator conference scheduled

As mentioned in June I am scheduled for giving a talk at this year's Den nasjonale konferansen om rovvilt, beitedyr og samfunn [The national conference on predators, grazing livestock and society] (Hamar, Norway, Oct. 31 - Nov. 1).

By now the organizer has released a full program. My talk "Offisiell og 'uoffisiell' rovviltforvaltning i Norge sett med et humanøkologisk blikk - Hva er motivene og handlingene?" [Official and "unofficial" predator management in Norway, as seen in a human ecology perspective - What are the motives and actions?] has been scheduled for November 1st at 13.55-14.35.

The one-woman company "Natur, Utvikling og Design", run by Lisbet Baklid, has released an invitation to its annual conference on large carnivores and grazing animals (to be arranged at Hamar, Norway, Oct 31 - Nov 1), where I will be giving the talk "Offisiell og 'uoffisiell' rovviltforvaltning i Norge sett med et humanøkologisk blikk - Hva er motivene og handlingene?" [Official and "unofficial" predator management in Norway, as seen in a human ecology perspective - What are the motives and actions?]".

My talk is one of six advertised in the 3 pp invitation. Other speakers include John Linnell and Petter Wabakken.
