Lunch lecture at the County Governor of Rogaland

Today I gave a lunch seminar at Fylkesmannen i Rogaland (County Governor of Rogaland, a federal function in the counties), for employees in their Agricultural department and their Environmental department, titled "Rovdyr og natur fra Amazonas til Hjelmeland". Some 30 people attended.

Article on formal/informal predator management turned down

My invited article "Formell og uformell rovviltforvaltning i Skandinavia, med særlig hensyn til norsk ulveforvaltning" [Formal and informal carnivore management in Scandinavia, with emphasis on Norwegian wolf management] has been turned down in its current version by the Norwegian academic journal Materialisten. They think the text is not available enough, and welcome a revised version. I will now have to figure out whether I want to revise it according to their wishes, or rather submit it elsewhere.

While in Oslo in mid-October I was invited by the editor of Norwegian journal Materialisten, an interdisciplinary journal devoted to scholarly and social critique, to submit an article in early 2012. I later scheduled with editor Cecilie Høigård (a criminologist) that my contribution, worktitled "Formell og uformell rovviltforvaltning [eventuelt ulveforvaltning] i Norge [eventuelt Skandinavia] [Formal and informal predator management [possibly: wolf management] in Norway [possibly: Scandinavia]], should be submitted by February 15th 2012.
