Paper presented at NoSP2017, NTNU

Today I have presented my paper "The Search Image as Link Between Sensation, Perception and Action" at the 15th Annual Conference of the Nordic Society for Phenomenology (NoSP), held at NTNU, Trondheim, Norway. My presentation was part of the session 3B "Phenomenology and Cognitive Science", chaired by Tarjei Mandt Larsen. Some 10-15 people were present.

I have agreed to chair the session "Perspectives on the Body: Nietzsche, Heidegger, Gadamer, Jonas, Merleau-Ponty" (2D) at the 11th conference of the Nordic Society for Phenomenology (NTNU, June 15-17), which takes place June 16th.

I've updated the top banner on the homepage of Minding Animals Norway so that it now links to this year's Norwegian Animals Ethics Conference (Trondheim August 20th).

Program for Norwegian Animal Ethics Conference 2014 launched

The program for the Norwegian Animal Ethics Conference 2014, to be held during the fishery fair Nor-Fishing 2014 in Trondheim August 20th, has been launched, see the conference website (specifically here). The program, which spans over 4 hours, includes presentations by Tore Kristiansen, Henrik Stenwig and Susanna Lybæk.

The programme for the fishing fair Nor-Fishing 2014 (Trondheim, Norway, August 19-22) has been released - see here. The programme includes Dyreetikkonferansen 2014 [the Norwegian Animal Ethics Conference 2014] on Wednesday August 20th at 1-5 pm, with the theme "Fiskelykke" [Luck in fishing/fish happiness].

Today I took part in a meeting of the organizing committee of the Norwegian Animal Ethics Conference 2014 (Dyreetikkonferansen 2014). Ahead of the meeting I had proposed a budget - the budget was revised slightly following the meeting. I am furthermore responsible for registration and related communications.

The Norwegian Animal Ethics Conference scheduled for August 20th; title

The Norwegian Animal Ethics Conference 2014, which will take place in Trondheim, has been scheduled for Wednesday August 20th of 2014. This year the theme will be "Fiskelykke" [ambiguous term which could mean "luck in fishing", but in our context meaning first and foremost "fish happiness"].

Field trips and research stays scheduled

This week I have arranged tickets for all remaining field trips and research visits that I have been planning. These are:

FIELD TRIP: Hedmark (Rendalen + Stor-Elvdal municipalities), October 29th - November 2nd
RESEARCH VISIT: Oslo II, November 10th-12th
RESEARCH VISIT: Trondheim, November 15th-17th

I was hoping to visit Namsskogan Familiepark (the fourth place in Norway that houses captive wolves) as well, but unfortunately there is no time for it, - since it was not included in my original plans, it cannot be made a priority right now.

Even with "only" these three remaining trips (on top of my 7-day visit to Tartu late November), I will spend approximately 60 hours on trains and train stations the next 5-6 weeks, and travel approximately 1200 + 700 + 1600 = 3500 km (plus 2800 km Kristiansand-Oslo-Tallinn-Tartu and back, a total of 6300 km, which pretty exactly corresponds to the distance from here on Earth's surface to its center).
