Norwegian animal ethics conference 2020 held

Yesterday, from Oslo, I was part of arranging the 2020 Norwegian animal ethics conference (Dyreetikkonferansen), with the theme "Velferd i isolasjonens tid" (Welfare in the time of isolation). The conference was this year held digitally, in Zoom. I was present in the "studio" at the Norwegian Veterinary Institute from where the conference was streamed and organized. Some 180 people followed the seminar online.

Dyreetikkonferansen 2018 held; video online

Today I chaired and co-arranged Dyreetikkonferansen 2018, the Norwegian Animal Ethics Conference 2018, which had the topic "Hvor like er mennesker og dyr?" (How similar are humans and animals?). Some 100 people attended. The venue this year was NMBU Veterinærhøyskolen.

The conference was streamed. Video is now available via YouTube.

Today I have attended the meeting of Norway´s Council for animal ethics at the Veterinary institute, Oslo. Interesting, and things to learn, as last time... This time concerning fish behavior (Atlantic salmon), for one thing.

Norwegian Animal Ethics Conference to be held November 21st

Today I have attended a meeting at the Norwegian Veterinary Institute in Oslo, in preparation of the Norwegian Animal Ethics Conference 2017. The conference will take place November 21st, with a wolf theme.

First plans for Norwegian Animal Ethics Conference 2015

Wednesday February 11th I took part in a meeting of the organising team of The Norwegian Animal Ethics Conference (Dyreetikkonferansen) 2015, in Oslo, at Norwegian Veterinary Institute. We agreed on the theme "Jakt på mor og barn" [Hunting mother and children].

This is the presentation of Dyreetikkonferansen, the Norwegian animal ethics conference, on the pages of Centre for Development and the Environment (University of Oslo), one of the three institutions behind the conference. Published September 7th.

Den norske Dyreetikkonferansen arrangeres for første gang, på Litteraturhuset i Oslo. Initiativtagerne bak konferansen er Kristian Bjørkdahl ved Senter for utvikling og miljø (SUM) og Morten Tønnessen i Minding Animals Norge, som har alliert seg med Rådet for dyreetikk, samt med Mattilsynet og Veterinærinstituttet.

Meaning:

The Norwegian animal ethics conference is held for the first time, at the House of Literature in Oslo. The initiators behind the conference is Kristian Bjørkdahl at the Centre for Development and Environment (SUM) and Morten Tønnessen from Minding Animals Norway, who have allied themselves with the Council for Animal Ethics and the Norwegian Food Safety Authority and The Norwegian Veterinary Institute.
