My book chapter previously titled "Neurosemiotics across species" has now been renamed “Beyond the human animal: Towards a cross-species neurosemiotics”, after the suggestion of the editors. The chapter is to appear soon in Adolfo García & Agustin Ibanez (eds.), Routledge Handbook of Neurosemiotics.

Today I have had half an article writing day, with some further editing done in my "Neurosemiotics across species" book chapter, and some 500 words added to my chapter "Nosology and semiotics".

From now on I will keep writing days on Sundays restricted to end at 4 p.m., to allow somewhat more time for other weekend activities, such as clearing the stuff I brought home from my second office almost a year ago.

Total number of writing days this Spring is up to 4,5.

Today I have had an article writing day devoted to proof-reading my chapter "Neurosemiotics across species", resubmitting my article "Wasted growth - case study: The American dream or nightmare?" (to Humanities and social sciences communications, cf. recent post on rejection), and working on my chapter "Nosology and semiotics", with some 200 words written.

Total number of writing days so far this Spring is up to 3.

Paper "Neurosemiotics across species" presented at NASS XII; session chaired; conference dinner attended

Yesterday, at the 12th conference of the Nordic Association for Semiotic Studies (NASS XII), I presented my paper "Neurosemiotics across species" (see conference abstract) in the session "Biosemiotics", which I also chaired (there were two more papers, by Kalevi Kull and Amelia Lewis). Some 40 people attended altogether, with a bit more of half of these physically present and the rest attending online. 

Later in the evening the conference dinner took place, at the restaurant Grey.

NASS XII presentation in Vilnius scheduled for Saturday November 6th

I have been scheduled to present my paper "Neurosemiotics Across Species" on Saturday November 6th at 18.00-18.30 as part of the parallell session (number 8.1) "Umwelt", at the conference NASS XII, the 12th conference of the Nordic Association for Semiotic Studies (NASS), to be held at the Algirdas Julius Greimas Centre for Semiotics and Literary Theory, Faculty of Philology, Vilnius University, Vilnius, Lithuania (November 5-7).

"Neurosemiotics across species" paper accepted for oral presentation at NASS XII

I have been notified that my paper submission to NASS XII, to be held in Vilnius this Autumn, has been accepted for oral presentation.

Tonight I have had half an article writing day, and written a commentary on Denis Noble´s Target article for Biosemiotics "The illusions of the Modern Synthesis", with some 1.800 words written. I also sent a proof-read version of "Neurosemiotics across species" (Routledge handbook chapter) to the editors along with Contributor agreement and bionote.

Total number of writing days so far this Spring is up to 17.

I have been notified that my book chapter "Neurosemiotics across species" has been accepted for publication in a Routledge Handbook on neurosemiotics, edited by Adolfo García and Agustin Ibanez.

Today I have had an article writing day devoted to finishing my chapter "Neurosemiotics across species". The final result is a manuscript with 8.000 words and 51 references. Now done. Some 1.500 words written today, the most productive day so far this term.

 Today I have had half an article writing day, devoted to planning for the remainder of the autumn semester, including journal articles, book chapters and the co-writing of the book Semiotic Agency: Science beyond mechanism (first author Alexei Sharov).
