Today I have had an article writing day devoted to proof-reading my article “Anticipating the societal transformation required to solve the environmental crisis in the 21st century”, making initial planning for my book chapter “Nosology and semiotics” (cf. previous post), and marking what needs updating in my three wasted growth articles.
Total number of writing days is up to 31 since New Year. Of these, 5,5 were in April, with -137 words written net this month (i.e., I deleted more text than I composed).
I am about to formalize, by way of a written agreement, my planned writing of a chapter on biosemiotic medicine for a forthcoming book on organic crosstalk in acute kidney injury.

Today I have attended part of a project related meeting, watched the faculty´s annual Fagdag (academic day), this time held digitally, and conducted 4 employee appraisals (total this week: 10; total to date: 37). The total number of scheduled meetings successfully completed this week is 16.

This included the weekly faculty leadership group meeting, and the first Fagforum event held at Department of social studies, with some 27 people present while Håvard Haugstvedt presented some of his research.

Today I have presented our book Semiotic agency: Science beyond mechanism (currently in review) along with co-author Alexei Sharov at the Biosemiotic Glade, an online research seminar series. This included a 30 minute presentation from Alexei followed by a 15 minute presentation by me, focused on phenomenal experience, subjectivity, and human agency in relation to ecological impact - and then some 75 minutes of discussion. Some 17 people attended.
Today I had an article writing day devoted to revising my commentary article "Making the Umwelt bubble of the Modern Synthesis burst" (a commentary to Denis Noble´s target article "The illusions of the Modern Synthesis"), with some 300 words written in the process (net). The commentary will be published in Biosemiotics.

The International Society for Biosemiotic Studies (ISBS) has announced that the 21st Gathering in Biosemiotics will be held July 26-29th, online and possibly also physically in Stockholm, Sweden. Abstract deadline is June 1st. For more info, see here.

Today I have had an article writing day, with some -500 words written net. I have looked through and made slight edits in the article now titled "Meaningful leisure in the outdoors – exploring the friluftsliv experience of adolescents at residential care", for which I am second author (first author is Joakim Jiri Haaland). I have also edited and shortened my article "Karbonfangst i lys av generasjonsrettferdighet" (CCS in light og generational justice). The former is now ready for resubmission; the latter has been resubmitted today.
