A preliminary outline of our article "Socialization of captive wolves (Canis lupus) in zoos improves animal welfare and expands behavioral repertoire" which we submitted to Animal Behaviour a few days ago has been rejected due to the focus of the article on one species only.

Today I have had a final article writing day ahead of my autumn holidays the upcoming week, with some 1.200 words written on my parts of the "Human agency" chapter for our book Semiotic agency (co-written with Alexei Sharov). I have also drafted a cover letter for the article on socialization of wolves which I co-write with Laura Kiiroja.
Number of article days so far this autumn is up to 17,5.

Presentation on Umwelt futurology given in the Biosemiotic Glade
Today I presented my paper "What can be known about future Umwelten?" in the Biosemiotic Glade (an informal, biweekly digital event held in the biosemiotic community), via Zoom. Some 14 people attended the 2-hour event, which included a half hour introduction by me followed by discussion.

Today I have had half an article writing day, and finished drafting my contributions for chapter 2 of Semiotic agency, "Historical Overview of Developments of the Notions of Agency". My contributions amount to close to 5.000 words, of which about 1.000 were written today.

On Tuesday this week, 29th of September, I had half an article writing day, with some 400 words written on the historical overview chapter of our book Semiotic agency. In September, I altogether wrote some 8.700 words. The autumn´s number of writing days is up to 16.
A meeting
Today I have attended the weekly faculty leadership group meeting at Faculty of social sciences. Among other issues, we discussed the faculty and university strategy.
