UIS guidelines for evaluating doctoral degrees revised

The University of Stavanger has revised its "Veiledning om bedømmelse av norske doktorgrader" (Guidelines for evaluation of Norwegian doctoral degrees), with a number of contributions from me.

Application budget counseling; PhD program document revisions

Today I have received economic counseling on my Research Council of Norway application AHAWELL, and revised PhD program draft documents (cf. post earlier this week) along with the Dean of Faculty of social sciences.

More job interviews; PhD program documents drafted

Today I have taken part in interviews in relation to the job as Head of Department at the Norwegian School of Hotel Management, as part of the appointments committee.

I also finalized drafts of guidelines for research schools, an application form for establishment of research schools, and an announcement text for the application process. I have also recently finished a draft of the study plan for the PhD program in social sciences. All these noe receive feedback from a facilitation group.

Two meetings and a supervision session

Today I have attended a meeting concerning transfer of a PhD student to our faculty, and a meeting with PhD supervisors at Department of media and social sciences in relation to our reorganization of the faculty´s PhD program. I have also had a supervision session with my PhD student.

Three meetings today

Toda I have attended the faculty´s leadership group meeting, a planning meeting concerning our work with re-accreditation of the PhD program, and a planning meeting on research assistance schemes.

3 meetings and supervision

Today I have attended three meetings, including a meeting with the UiS Business school in relation to cooperation on a PhD program, and a meeting on evaluation of the faculty´s writing retreats/seminars. I have also had a PhD supervision session.

Three meetings and an interview

First on campus development (specifically the functionality of Kjell Arholms hus). Then on the possibility of making cotutelle agreements on PhDs (collaboration between universities). Then on accreditation of the faculty´s new PhD program. And finally an interview in relation to my professor promotion, soon to appear on the University of Stavanger´s internal web.
