Interviewed on treatment of animals on NRK P2´s Ekko, with Andreas Haga

Today I was interviewed on NRK P2´s radio program Ekko, along with Andreas Haga, with Rikke Eckoff as program manager, on why we treat animals so differently. I was presented as Professor of philosophy at University of Stavanger, and a member of Norway´s Council for animal ethics. The section, which was recorded live, lasts for some 20 minutes.

Radio interview on and while walking aired again on NRK P2

Fifth interview in NRK P2´s Verdibørsen

Today, in a NRK Rogaland Studio on Ullandhaug in Stavanger, I was interviewed for public Norwegian broadcaster NRK P2´s Verdibørsen, by Aase Cathrine Myrtveit. The topic was the role of animals in the Anthropocene. The interview, which is a spin-off from the conference "Animals in the Anthropocene" (see previous posts), will air in a couple of weeks or so.

On the Norwegian radio program Ekko (NRK P2) this Saturday, May 2nd, a portrait of Bergljot Børresen was aired, after she received the Minding Animals award 2015 (see blog post) - a fact that was mentioned in the program.

Interview on animal awareness of death to appear on NRK P2's Verdibørsen

Yesterday I met with NRK P2s Aase Cathrine Myrtveit to be interviewed for this week's "Verdibørsen". The topic of the 15 minute long radio interview was animal awareness of death. I was interviewed in my capacity as Chair of Minding Animals Norway and Associate professor in philosophy at University of Stavanger.

The program will be sent this Saturday, and then again on Sunday.

Radio interview for Verdibørsen on poultry welfare recorded April 7th

The interview with me on animal welfare in the poultry industry, and the lives of chickens in factory halls, for the national Norwegian public radio station NRK P2's program "Verdibørsen" [the value exchange], was recorded in studio (Marienlyst, Oslo) on April 7th, with Kai Sibbern. The interview was broadcasted April 12th and 13th.

This was the second time I was interviewed on Verdibørsen, and the third time I was featured (see previous posts). The pretext for this specific interview was a seminar organised in the Norwegian parliament by Minding Animals Norway in collaboration with Norway's Green Party.

On Saturday April 12th I was interviewed on the national Norwegian public radio station NRK P2's program "Verdibørsen" (by Kai Sibbern). The topic was animal welfare in the poultry industry, and I was presented as chair of Minding Animals Norway and Associate professor in philosophy at University of Stavanger. The program was sent again on Sunday April 13th.

Media coverage of release of Norwegian HAS anthology

The anthology Hvem er villest i landet her? Råskap mot dyr og natur i antropocen, menneskets tidsalder [Who is wildest in this country here? Brutality towards animals and nature in the Anthropocene, the age of Man], which was released by Spartacus forlag/Scandinavian Academic Press May 15th, and for which I am one of three editors, was mentioned on Østlandssendingen, a regional news program on the radio station NRK P1, the same day, via an interview with Ragnhild Sollund, one of my co-editors. 

It might also have been mentioned in an interview with Sollund on Radio Norge the same day. 

Sollund also appeared, talking about our book, on NRK P2's weekly program Verdibørsen Saturday May 18th, along with Dag Hessen, one of the book's contributors, both of them with extensive interviews. A podcast of the program is available (these two interviews start at 29m 55s). My voice is heard in the background as the book is introduced, and I am mentioned as one of the editors along with Sollund and Guri Larsen. Furthermore, professor emeritus in criminology Nils Christie comments the book.

Interview on national radio

This Saturday, December 15th, a 17-minute interview with me as chair of Minding Animals Norway (and philosopher and semiotician at University of Stavanger) aired in the program "Verdibørsen" of the national public radio channel NRK P2 (the program was repeated Sunday December 16th). The interview, which was conducted by Aase Cathrine Myrtveit, is available as podcast.

Topics included human-animal relations, semiotics, the wolf as symbol, animal and environmental ethics and the term "non-human animal".
