Seminar "Ethics in a time of animal crisis" held; presentation given

Today I have attended, co-chaired, and presented at the seminar "Ethics in a time of animal crisis", held at university of Stavanger at the occasion of Alice Crary´s Steffens lecture 2024 at University of Stavanger (November 21st), and co-organised by Cato Wittusen and me. Some 25 people attended the seminar, which featured presentations by Hannah Winther, Dolly Jørgensen and me, with Alice Crary and the audience responding. My talk was titled «The range of dignity and suffering».

The Greenhouse approaching new program period, 2021-2023

I have signalled interest in remaining a member of the program area for research The Greenhouse: An environmental history initiative at University of Stavanger for the next program period, 2021-2023.

The Greenhouse gets funding for SAMKUL project

A project headed by University of Stavanger´s Dolly Jørgensen, "Beyond Dodos & Dinosaurs: Displaying Extinction & Recovery in Museums" has been given funding from the Research Council of Norway as a SAMKUL project, as one of eight projects nationally (all sorting under the theme "man and nature"). The project is to be carried out as part of "The Greenhouse: An environmental humanities initiative at University of Stavanger". I am a member of the Greenhouse, but not directly involved in Dolly´s project.

Dolly also got funding fot establishing an environmental humanities network called "In the clouds".
