Summer closure event at Department of social studies; professor promotion celebrated

Day the Department of social studies have had their summer closure event. During the event the professor promotion of myself and Ingunn Ellingsen was marked. I introduced some of my research for 15 minutes, emphasizing the four articles/chapters that my promotion committee indicated as contributing the most to my promotion. Some 35 people attended.

Three meetings and an interview

First on campus development (specifically the functionality of Kjell Arholms hus). Then on the possibility of making cotutelle agreements on PhDs (collaboration between universities). Then on accreditation of the faculty´s new PhD program. And finally an interview in relation to my professor promotion, soon to appear on the University of Stavanger´s internal web.

Full professor

Today the appointments committee at the University of Stavanger´s Faculty of Social Sciences unanimously decided to promote me to Full Professor of Philosophy, with effect from September 7th 2018, the date I applied.

Full professor application evaluation delayed

I have been informed that the evaluation committee that considers my application for full professor promotion has asked for more time to finish their work. They now plan to finish by mid-March.

Professor promotion committee established

I have been informed that the committee that will consider my application for promotion to professor of philosophy has now formally been appointed. Their recommendation is due January 3rd 2019.

I have just submitted an application for being promoted as full professor in philosophy to University of Stavanger´s Faculty of Social Sciences. 31 attachments, about 600 pages of text.
