UiS action plan for ethical trading 2017-21 approved

On December 1st, the board of University Stavanger had a board meeting where in case US 109/16 issues settled by rector Marit Boyesen were reported. On November 22nd she, by mandate, approved of the action plan for ethical trading 2017-2021 (RF 41/16) that I have helped prepare as a member of the UiS work group on ethical trading. The plan also includes a procurement strategy.

Today I attended a meeting of the University of Stavanger´s Work group for ethical trading. Among other things, we finished our draft proposal of the action plan for ethical trading for 2017-2020.

This morning I have attended a meeting of the University of Stavanger Work group for ethical trading. We mainly worked with improving the draft action plan for 2017-2020.

Today I have attended a meeting of the University of Stavanger Work group on ethical trade. Among other things we worked on a mandate for the Work group (to be approved), and on the action plan for 2017-2021 (to be approved by the board of University of Stavanger late this year).

UiS Ethical Trading Initiative 2014 report submitted

The 2014 report of University of Stavanger has about a week ago been submitted to Ethical Trading Initiative Norway (Initiativ for Etisk Handel). In the report, I am listed as one of the members of the UiS Working group for ethical trading (as the only research staff). 

Appointed member of UiS Work group on ethical trade

I have been appointed member of The University of Stavanger´s Work group on ethical trade, which is headed by purchasing manager Espen Haavardsholm.

University of Stavanger yet to take concrete measures in relation to ethical trade

Today a letter to the editor of sorts that I wrote yesterday was published on the debate pages of the University of Stavanger. It is titled "Oppfølging av styrevedtak om etisk handel" [Follow-up of the board decision on ethical trade], and refers to a proposal of mine and decision made by the board of University of Stavanger on November 28th 2014. As far as I have seen no concrete measures have been discussed by the board to date. It is the responsibility of university director John Møst to suggest some concrete measures.

University of Stavanger to take concrete measures in relation to ethical trade

On the board meeting of University of Stavanger November 28th, where I took part as the representative for temporarily employed staff, the university's "action plan for ethical trade" was treated by the board. A news story from that meeting reads (excerpts, my translation):

Action plan and strategy for ethical trade UiS were also presented. The proposal [of the university director John Møst] was adopted with amendments from the Board members Morten Tønnessen and Erling Øverland.

My amendment, which was unanimously supported by the 11-person university board (after rector Marit Boyesen suggested to remove the phrase "e.g. related to energy", which I accepted), was that the board asks the university director to assess some (plural) concrete measures the university can take in the period 2013-2016 to follow up on the action plan for ethical trade.
