297 research applications in RCN Young research talents scheme

Research Council of Norway reports (on the linked page and on their Facebook page for Young research talents) that they received 297 research applications in the scheme Unge forskertalenter [Young research talents] by the deadline May 27th. This is an increase of 33% from last year. 73 of these research applications (out of 330 in total) were within HUMSAM - humanities and social science.

FRIPRO application "Umwelt Theory For Our Time" completed and submitted

Today I have finished the research application "Umwelt Theory For Our Time" - a 10-page project description; 30-something pages altogether with electronic application and attachments - for Research Council of Norway´s Young Research Talents scheme (FRIPRO, independent research). 11 good colleagues are involved either as Visiting researchers or as members of the prospective project´s Reference Group (and Timo Maran is one of the core researchers).

2-day workshop with Peter Dukes attended (PRE-FRIPRO event)

Today and yesterday I have attended the third and final PRE-FRIPRO event at University of Stavanger, organised by the university´s Research and Innovation Department and designed to prepare "Young research talent" applicants for research applications within the Research Council of Norway´s FRIPRO program (independent projects). The last two days the program has consisted in a workshop lead by Peter Dukes and attended by some 20 mostly young (and mostly talented) scholars. Very useful.

"Umwelt Theory For Our Time" FRIPRO application drafted

After hours on March 20th I finished a research application draft aimed at the Norwegian FRIPRO (independent projects) grant scheme. The application draft (10 pp.), or rather the project, is titled "Umwelt Theory For Our Time". I finished a draft by this date in an attempt to have it selected as one of three application drafts that are to be reviewed at a PRE-FRIPRO workshop at University of Stavanger in mid-April.

Today I have attended the research application preparation PRE-FRIPRO course - a 5 hour workshop, this time - at University of Stavanger.

Joining the UiS´ PRE-FRIPRO pre-application program

I have been admitted to the University of Stavanger´s PRE-FRIPRO pre-application program, a program offered by the UiS Research and Innovation Department and designed to prepare "Young research talent" applicants for research applications within the Research Council of Norway´s FRIPRO program (independent projects).
