Sign Systems Studies received; reference for early human Umwelt article

Today I received my paper copy of the most recent issue of Sign Systems Studies, where I have a contribution on the early human Umwelt. Reference:

Early human Umwelt article revised

Early in April I finished revising my article "The ontogeny of the embryonic, foetal and infant human Umwelt", which I have submitted to Sign Systems Studies in relation to their planned special issue on the theme of the 8th conference of the Nordic Association for Semiotic Studies.

Some two weeks ago I was informed that my abstract "The ontogeny of the embryonic, fetal and infant human Umwelt" has been accepted for presentation at the 8th conference of the Nordic Association for Semiotic Studies, Sign Evolution on Multiple Time Scales (Aalborg, Denmark, May 29-31).

Presentation scheduled for Language and Life event; title sketched

I will be one of three presenters during the Language and Life event in Tartu July 15th, two days ahead of this year's gathering in biosemiotics. My tentative title is "the conceptual Umwelt and its role in the tripartite model of the human Umwelt". There will further be a roundtable and group work, and presentations by Stephen Cowley and Leo van Lier. Attendance will be open to all interested.

Abstracts for our three presentations are due by March 16th.
