#34,5; contributions for CONTRADICTionary written and submitted

Today I have had half an article writing day, with 1000 words altogether written on my entries "Environmental quality" and "Pollution" for the book volume CONTRADICTionary: An Almanac of Resistance (ed. Bernd Herzogenrath), which is to be published by Open Humanities Press. As mentioned previously, this book is organised around the ca. 200 words the Trump administration is attempting to ban from science. 

This was writing day #34,5 this Autumn (starting July 1st), with a total of 6 of the writing days devoted to article writing to date.

11th newsletter of Minding Animals Norway

Last week I composed and distributed the 11th newsletter of Minding Animals Norway, to its ca. 60 members. 5pp.

Donation to refugee NGO, in the name of UiS

I´ve made a small donation to the University of Stavanger´s campaign "Et dagsverk for flyktningene"  [A day´s work for the refugees] (Flyktninghjelpen), and encourage others to do the same. Would be great if my university could make a donation too, in addition to encouraging its employees and students to donate.

Petition against Arctic oil exploration: Website and society launched; anyone can join

Some time ago I signed a petition to stop oil exploration in the Arctic, along with some 200 other persons and NGOs. Now a society has been formed, and a website launched where people can join the petition - 112aksjonen.no.

Minding Animals NMBU established - first local branch of MAN

Minding Animals NMBU, at Norwegian University of Life Sciences, was established in a meeting held May 27th. This is the first local branch of Minding Animals Norway.

Reappointed Minding Animals Africa and Europe national groups convenor

In a board decision by the Board of Directors of Minding Animals International, I have been appointed as Minding Animals Africa and Europe national groups convenor "until resignation or until such time as the next face-to-face meeting" (which might be only in 2018). The decision was discussed in Delhi in January (see below), but since a quorum was not present a further board member had to vote after the board meeting was held in order for decisions to take effect. The minutes were distributed a few days ago.

The same, then, goes for my appointment as Tool Kit Editor.
