David Abram's follow-up to The Spell of the Sensuous, entitled Becoming Animal: An Earthly Cosmology, is scheduled for publication August 24th, cf. Random House.
A chapter from Becoming Animal, "The discourse of the birds" (which I can testify is good reading), will appear in the special issue of the journal Biosemiotics "The semiotics of perception", that very same month.

I'm a big a fan of Abram's writings and and excited for his new book to come out on the 24th.
Do you happen to know whether the Biosemiotics piece you mentioned has been or will be published? I tried looking for it but couldn't find it.

Due to a copyright issue (which was not Abram's fault), 'The discourse of the birds' will only be published in December 2010 - the rest of the special issue is already available online (for subscribers only - institutional subscribers included). In other words, his text will appear first as a book chapter and only later in the journal Biosemiotics.
Thanks for the quick and informative response, Morten--much appreciated. I'd found the journal issue you mentioned but couldn't find Abram's article, now I see why.
Blasted copyright laws...oh well, I'll try to survive somehow till the 24th. :)
